Joel and I have been involved in running the Intermountain Spina Bifida Support Group for over a year now. It has been very rewarding for us. We love reaching out to the spina bifida families here in Utah. Today was our annual Swim Party and it was so great to have a big turnout. Joel and I got the pool and the pavillion, sent out the emails, posted info. online, monitored the RSVP's and took any phone calls for the event. We also coordinated any specialists attending the event. Joel's parents were able to come to the event and help us with the kids which was also really nice. It gave us an opportunity to talk to people and to help run the event.

Wheelchair Tennis people came and allowed anyone to try it out. Joel, of course couldn't help himself. He had to try it out.

Lily is a little young to attempt wheelchair tennis, but she really wanted to "play ball," so the coach passed the ball with her a little bit. The teenager in the wheelchair behind her is an awesome WC Tennis/basketball athlete. He was featured in our church's youth magazine the New Era a few months ago.
