Joel got a sore throat yesterday and he was feeling pretty sick. We were both pretty worried because he was supposed to sing at a church meeting the following day (today). So when I went to bed, I said a serious prayer for him that he would be able to sing.
It's funny how prayers are answered sometimes. Unbeknown to me, that night he drove himself to the emergency room. He said he felt like there was a razor cutting across his throat every time he swallowed. Turns out he has strep throat! Poor guy. They gave him a steroid shot and antibiotics. This morning, he got up, took a shower and just pulled himself together. When he sang (in a trio), no one knew he was so sick.
This is not the first time that a visit to the emergency room has turned out to be an answer to prayer. We are both so grateful that things worked out.
